Caring and Compassionate Counseling
Welcome!
Welcome!
Thanks for visiting my website to learn more about my counseling services. I pride myself on my ability to establish a warm, safe, friendly, comfortable and productive counseling relationship with my clients.
I believe positive change is always possible, regardless of how "big" or entrenched the problem may seem. I am upbeat, action-oriented, pragmatic, and solution-focused.
I have taken advanced training in IFS (Internal Family Systems) an approach I find incredibly useful for helping to understand and heal problematic (and often long-term) patterns of belief ("I'm not good enough/lovable" "I'm a fake"), and behavior (over-eating, over-spending, problematic drinking or drugs, anger outbursts) but honor and utilize other approaches such as ACT, CBT, Mindfulness and Self Compassion as well.
I do not use a "cookie cutter" or "one size fits all" approach to counseling. You are, after all, unique.
I have helped people struggling with anxiety/depression be "happy for the first time in twenty years" and those who binge/overeat understand, control and resolve their underlying emotional triggers.
Regardless of whether the problem is something specific (like a phobia or overeating) or general (like anxiety, depression, sense of worth or relationship conflicts) most people benefit from getting some guidance to find new solutions. Like the old joke says: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result."
Chances are you've been working really hard on solving your problem. My job is to help you find a different, more productive way to do it.
